As with most local products, oranges vary depending on the time of year. For example, in season, the protagonists are the "Chislett Summer" and the "Valencia Late".

The first of these is the summer Navel, the ripe one of the family. It has a large size and a large amount of juice in a core with few pips, which makes it ideal for fresh consumption.  

The second variety is the latest variety from the Valencia area. It is characterised by its high juice content and compact flesh. It is one of the oranges with the best juice.
